Miles Overview
The 2016 Grand Cherokee is a midsize SUV that blends Jeep's off-road heritage with a refined, upscale cabin. It competes with the Ford Explorer, Toyota 4Runner, and Chevrolet Tahoe, offering a more premium feel than most. On pavement it feels composed and quiet, while its available four-wheel-drive systems make it genuinely capable off-road. The cabin is roomy and well-built, with upscale materials in higher trims and generous cargo space for gear. The High Altitude sits above the Overland and below the Summit, adding blacked-out exterior trim and unique 20-inch wheels for a sportier look. Its 3.0L I6 pairs with an eight-speed automatic and four-wheel drive, delivering a smooth, efficient ride that earns 24 mpg combined on the highway. Expect a firmer ride than the Summit, as the High Altitude's suspension is tuned for sharper handling rather than maximum comfort.
