Miles Overview
The 2012 Durango is Dodge's three-row SUV, sized to fit families who want more room than a crossover but less bulk than a full-size truck-based rig. It drives with a confident, truck-like feel that some owners appreciate for towing and hauling, though the ride can be a bit firm and the steering isn't as light as a car-based SUV. Inside, the cabin is roomy and comfortable for six or seven, with a third row that folds down to open up a large cargo area, but the rear seats don't fold completely flat. Some owners report issues with the transmission and the UConnect infotainment system, and a few mention interior trim pieces wearing prematurely. Stepping up from the SXT to the Crew adds leather upholstery, heated front seats, and a power liftgate, making it the comfort-focused choice for family duty. This Crew pairs the 3.6L V6 with a five-speed automatic and rear-wheel drive, giving it enough punch for daily driving and a towing capacity that handles a small boat or trailer. The Crew trim unlocks the option for a rear-seat DVD entertainment system, which keeps the kids occupied on longer trips.
