The 2016 Cherokee is Jeep's compact SUV, slotting between the Renegade and the Grand Cherokee with a more car-like unibody design. It competes with the Honda CR-V, Ford Escape, and Toyota RAV4, but brings genuine off-road capability that those rivals lack. On pavement the Cherokee rides smoothly and handles well, while the available Trailhawk trim adds serious trail credentials. The cabin is roomy and well-built, with comfortable seats and a user-friendly Uconnect infotainment system. Off-road hardware like the locking rear differential and lifted suspension set the Trailhawk apart from the Latitude and Limited trims. Its 3.2L I6 and nine-speed automatic send power to all four wheels, and the 2-speed transfer case gives you low-range gearing for serious trails.
