Miles Overview
The 2016 Cherokee is Jeep's compact SUV, slotting between the Renegade and the Grand Cherokee with a more car-like unibody design. It competes with the Honda CR-V, Ford Escape, and Toyota RAV4, but brings genuine off-road capability that those rivals lack. On pavement the Cherokee rides smoothly and handles well, while the available Trailhawk trim adds serious trail credentials. The cabin is roomy and well-built, with comfortable seats and a user-friendly Uconnect infotainment system. The Trailhawk adds underbody skid plates, hill-descent control, and a raised suspension for serious off-road use that the Latitude and Limited don't offer. Its 2.4L I4 makes 184 horsepower and 171 lb-ft of torque, routed through a nine-speed automatic and four-wheel drive that gives you genuine low-speed crawl capability; expect 22 mpg combined.
