Miles Overview
The 2022 Cherokee slots between the Compass and Grand Cherokee, offering a more car-like alternative to Jeep's traditional body-on-frame models. It competes with compact SUVs like the Honda CR-V, Toyota RAV4, and Ford Escape, but brings genuine off-road credibility to the segment. The Cherokee handles confidently on pavement, with composed steering and a ride that filters out most bumps, though the sportier trims feel firmer. Inside, the cabin is quiet and well-built, with comfortable seats and a user-friendly infotainment system, plus generous cargo space for weekend gear. The Sport is the entry trim with the 3.2L V6 and all-wheel drive, skipping the Latitude's extra comfort features to keep the price down. The 3.2L V6 makes 271 horsepower and pairs with the eight-speed automatic, giving you confident highway passing and a 22 mpg combined rating.
