Miles Overview
The 2021 Cherokee slots between the Renegade and Grand Cherokee as a compact SUV with genuine off-road credentials. It competes with the Honda CR-V, Toyota RAV4, and Ford Escape in the crowded compact crossover segment. The Cherokee rides smoothly on the highway, and the available V6 gives it confident passing power. Inside, you get a comfortable cabin with supportive seats, and the available panoramic sunroof brightens things up. Reliability is a mixed bag, with some owners reporting oil consumption and electrical gremlins, though many have trouble-free miles. The Latitude Lux gives up the Trailhawk's off-road hardware and 4WD for a lower price, while adding leather-trimmed seats and a heated steering wheel. Its 3.2L V6 makes 271 horsepower and pairs with the nine-speed automatic, which shifts smoothly and helps the front-wheel-drive Cherokee return 23 mpg combined. Standard features include full-speed forward-collision warning, blind-spot monitoring, and a remote-start system that warms the cabin before you get in.
