Miles Overview
The 2016 Cherokee is Jeep's compact SUV, slotting between the Renegade and the Grand Cherokee with a more car-like unibody design. It competes with the Honda CR-V, Ford Escape, and Toyota RAV4, but brings genuine off-road capability that those rivals lack. On pavement the Cherokee rides smoothly and handles well, while the available Trailhawk trim adds serious trail credentials. The cabin is roomy and well-built, with comfortable seats and a user-friendly Uconnect infotainment system. The Overland is the luxury-focused Cherokee, with leather, woodgrain trim, and a nicer interior than the Latitude. This Overland has the 2.4L I4 making 184 horsepower and a nine-speed automatic driving the front-wheel drive, good for 25 mpg combined. You get standard 18-inch wheels and an upgraded nine-speaker audio system that sounds much better than the base setup.
