Miles Overview
The 2017 Compass is Jeep's compact crossover, slotting below the Cherokee and competing with the Honda CR-V and Ford Escape. It steers with a truck-like feel and handles rough roads with confidence, though acceleration is leisurely. The cabin is roomy up front with comfortable seats, but rear legroom is tight and the trunk is modest. Available features include a touchscreen infotainment system, heated seats, and a backup camera. The Sport is the base Compass, trading the Latitude's extra features for the lowest entry price and a manual gearbox. Its 2.4L I4 makes 172 horsepower and pairs with a five-speed manual, which keeps you engaged but means relaxed highway passing. This one has four-wheel drive, so you get Jeep's off-road hardware without stepping up to the Trailhawk's higher price.
