2016 Jeep Wrangler Sport

The 2016 Wrangler is Jeep's iconic off-roader, the one with removable doors and a fold-down windshield that you cross-shop against nothing else quite like it. It's genuinely unstoppable on rough trails, and the solid front axle soaks up big bumps that would rattle other SUVs apart. On pavement the ride is bouncy and the cabin is loud, but that's the trade for the off-road capability you're buying. The back seat is tight and cargo space is minimal, and kids may struggle climbing in, but the two-door's short length makes it easy to park in the city. Stepping up from the base Sport to the Sahara adds nicer wheels, body-color fenders, and a few comfort touches, but the Sport keeps the same rugged bones for less money. The Sport's wash-out interior with drain plugs means you can hose out the floor after a muddy trail, and the fold-down windshield is standard here.
