Miles Overview
The 1998 Ram 2500 is a heavy-duty pickup built for towing and hauling, not for daily commuting. It drives like a truck from the 90s: a stiff ride, a high step-in, and steering that asks for muscle. The cabin is roomy but basic, with hard plastics and a bench seat that fits three across. Insurance and parts are cheap, and the aftermarket is huge for both gas and diesel versions. The 2500 is the heavy-duty step up from the 1500, with a stiffer frame and bigger brakes for serious towing. It uses the base 5.9L V6 with four-wheel drive, which is torquey enough for work duty but not quick by modern standards. The manual transmission gives you direct control for backing trailers, but the clutch is heavy in stop-and-go traffic.
