Miles Overview
The 2002 Dakota is a mid-size pickup that splits the difference between a compact and a full-size truck. It rides like a proper truck, with a firm rear axle that lets you know when the bed is loaded. The Quad Cab's rear seats flip up, giving you a lockable storage area under them. Owners report O2 sensors failing early, and the steering rack can develop leaks as the truck ages. Flareside styling and the available V8 set the Sport apart from the SLT and SXT trims below it. This Sport has the 3.9L V6 with an automatic transmission and four-wheel drive, which is enough grunt for daily driving but won't win any drag races. The Sport's optional limited-slip rear differential helps you get moving in mud or snow without spinning just one tire.
