past three years. (Shaffer Trucking defines
Over-the-Road as driving for a company whose trips
includes at least three states within trip routes and
involve extended days out with overnight stays.
Equipment normally run in this manner is equipped with a
sleeper berth.)
- Experience must be quality and verifiable with
favorable references.
- Good driving record on Motor Vehicle Report.
- No DUI or DWI convictions or positive drug screens
in past five years.
- No major preventable accident within the past five
years.
- Able to pass a paid D.O.T drug screen, physical
examination and Shaffer Trucking drive check.

years = .44 (PLUS $.02 per mile for Northeast Premium

- Michigan & Texas Dedicated:

Profit Sharing/Retirement
Shaffer Trucking contributes a portion of yearly profits to
individual profit sharing accounts of every company driver.
As a result of the success of Shaffer Trucking, this
contribution, overtime can equal more than one to two cents
per mile in value.
Life Insurance
$20,000 of life insurance within 90 days of hire date
through the first year. Then $50,000 of life insurance
coverage second year and thereafter. Life insurance coverage
for your family dependents is also available.
401(k) Savings Plan
This program which is in addition to the company paid Profit
Sharing Plan allows the driver to set aside up to 15% of his
or her earnings prior to the deduction of taxes. Shaffer
Trucking will match a percentage of the employee's
contribution. This type of program is a real benefit to the
company drivers who are actively planning their retirement.

Home Time
We at Shaffer Trucking believe it is important to get
drivers home frequently. Non-vacation home time will
generally be limited to a maximum of six days unless as a
result of drivers' high level of productivity, additional
time is approved by your fleet manager. The area of drivers'
residence and availability of driving opportunities would
determine the division in which the driver may be assigned.
Listed below are the various divisions and home-time
opportunities.
- Division - National Fleet
Home Time: 2 - 3 weeks out; off 1½ days per each six
days out on road.
- Division - Northeast Regional
Home Time: Home weekends; guaranteed minimum 24 hours.
- Division - Midwest-East Coast Regional
Home Time: 10 to 14 days out, 1 to 2 days off.
- Division - Southeast Regional
Home Time: Home weekends - a portion of FL drivers would
be expected to be 7 to 14 days out, 1 to 2 days off.
- Division - Teams
Home Time: 21 days out, 1 1/2 days off for each week
out.
*Regional and Dedicated Fleet drivers may be home more
frequently.
